WEEK 8 AUGUST, 18th 2015

Hi family!

It's been a good second week here in Schwerin! Nobody works as hard as Elder Hein and I:) Hah and I thought I was tired at the MTC all the time... We walk for daayyyss. We have bikes but ehhh. We take trains and buses. Anytime I hop on a train or bus you can best bet that I'll be out cold in less than 2 minutes. Hahah Elder Hein says the same thing every time to wake me up " Elder Miller wakey wakeyyy this is our stop!" Anyways, nothing too crazy this week but some exciting things!
Found a couple new investigators this week which is awesome. It's a little difficult to find new people to teach. The members in Germany don't really like to help too much with that stuff as far as talking about the gospel with their friends. So that's why we have to do more street contacting than we would like. We just don't get that many references.
Big time news for Lee: He hasn't smoked or drank for 4 consecutive weeks!  I love that guy:) We pray hard that he stays strong because he finally committed to being baptized! We got him set up for the 28th of this month! Hahah he says were only allowed to have 6 people come to his baptism though because he is "shy". We kinda jokingly argued with him and said there's no way that's possible because there will be a lot of people that want to come and support him but we finally caved and just said fine. That includes him, Elder Hein & I, and the bishop so we get to invite 2 people. I'm pretty sure there will be quite a few more people than 6 but we will see what happens with that I guess.
It's Holiday here in Germany so a lot of people are gone on vacation. But they should be back in a couple weeks! That means a little more study time. We study for at least 4 hours a day... and that's minimum. I learn so much. Kinda makes me sick because it makes me think if I would have studied this hard and well back in school I would have a full freakin ride to Harvard. Makes me excited for when I get back home and go to school and actually apply myself. Anyways, the more and more I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible the more true it gets. Anyone who doubts it, just read for yourself. The ACTUAL scriptures. Don't Google anything or use the Internet and find someone else's silly, ignorant, anti Mormon website and use that as reference to disprove... Seriously. That's ridiculous. And that happens too much. Develop your OWN opinions. The bible and Book of Mormon testify of one another!

Ezekiel 37:16-17: Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, for Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, for Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions. And join them one to another into one stick: and they shall become one in thine hand.

Weekly difficulties:

The German language. I was about ready to rip up my language book and throw it out my apartment window the other day I was getting so frustrated.

Had some gnarly headaches this week too - that's not fun either.

Everyone and their dog smokes here. It's really really bad. I don't know if I'm gonna make it home before I die of second hand smoke.

Weekly triumphs:

Lee!!!

Played soccer this week. Yeah, I still got it;)

I love you all so much and miss you! The mission is hard. It's really really hard. But I think that's one of the reasons why I love it. I wanna send some packages home with some stuff I just can't yet because it's balls hot. But it is cooling! So hopefully soon.

Keep on keepin on,

Elder Miller

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS!

1. WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE IN GERMANY?

There are a lot of different things. There is something called döner that I love! It is a kind of a sandwich and is made with beef. Pretzels from bakeries!

WHAT IS YOUR AREA LIKE?

Our area is super big! It is beautiful here. We see the castle all the time! The streets are very crowded which is why we don't ride bikes.
